Xionggang produces borosilicate fire-rated glass as monolithic non-insulating fire-rated glass (integrity only, “E” class). Its high softening point and low coefficient of thermal expansion keep the pane dimensionally stable under thermal load, blocking flames and smoke.
Sheets are available up to 4800 × 2440 mm in thicknesses of 5–15 mm; intermediate dimensions are available on request. Key properties include:
- Fire resistance: Fire resistance rating exceeds 120 min.
- Optical performance: Ultra-clear with 92% visible light transmittance (VLT).
- Weight and strength: More than 10% lighter than float glass, with high mechanical strength to reduce structural dead load.
- Durability: UV-stable and chemically durable. The composition contains no nickel, eliminating nickel sulphide (NiS) inclusions and the risk of spontaneous breakage.
- Fabrication: Can be cut, edge-worked, drilled and coated before tempering. The glass can be laminated or assembled into insulating glass units (IGUs) for combined fire resistance and thermal performance.
