Xionggang Glass Fire-Rated Product Range

Sichuan Xionggang Glass added a 54 m continuous convection tempering furnace in 2020 to temper soda-lime silica and borosilicate fire-rated glass. The line targets stress uniformity, optical quality and spontaneous breakage risk in monolithic non-insulating fire-rated glass (integrity-only, “E” class). An accompanying CNC testing furnace verifies integrity and insulation performance for monolithic fire-rated glass, laminated fire-rated glass and fire-resistant windows. The product range is insured by PICC.

Borosilicate fire-rated glass

Xionggang’s borosilicate fire-rated glass is formulated without nickel, eliminating nickel sulfide inclusions and the risk of spontaneous breakage. It offers a fire resistance rating exceeding 120 min, a visible light transmittance (VLT) of 92 % and is more than 8 % lighter than standard glass while retaining high mechanical strength. Sheets can be cut, edged, drilled and coated before tempering, and subsequently assembled into laminated glass, insulating glass units (IGUs) or vacuum insulating glass. Tempered monolithic sheets meet both fire and safety requirements, and the material resists acid, alkali and UV exposure.

Typical applications include fire-resistant windows, interior fire partitions and fire doors. It can be installed as single glazing in curtain walls or combined with coatings, ceramic frit, lamination or IGU fabrication.

High-strength monolithic fire-rated glass

Produced from soda-lime silica float glass by tempering to a surface stress of 180–230 MPa, this monolithic non-insulating fire-rated glass achieves a fire resistance rating exceeding 1.00 h. Testing shows it withstands 1000 °C flame for 96–183 min without fracture. If broken, it fragments into small, blunt particles. Further processing options include laminated safety glass, IGUs, coated glass and point-supported curtain wall glazing.

It is used in hotels, exhibition halls, airports, hospitals, libraries and commercial buildings for fire doors, fire windows, skylights, smoke baffles and fire partitions in locations without fire-compartment requirements.

Nano-silica composite fire-rated glass

This laminated construction bonds two or more glass plies with an inorganic expandable nano-silica interlayer. In a fire, the interlayer expands approximately tenfold to form a rigid, opaque barrier that absorbs heat and maintains integrity while limiting temperature rise on the unexposed face. It is available in both EI-class (insulating) and E-class (integrity-only, non-insulating) configurations, with integrity ratings from 0.50 h to 3.00 h. The material is weather-resistant for exterior fire curtain walls and fire windows, and can be supplied in rectangular, square or circular formats.

Applications include Class A and Class B fire doors and windows, fire partitions and fire curtain walls. It can also be specified for floors, ceilings, roofs, fire walls and combined security functions.
